Fresh from his first headline tour of Europe, which featured a number of sold out audiences across Spain, Fedora-toting blues rock guitarist Jack J Hutchinson has released a new lyric video to his track ‘Road To Hell’. The western inspired video features images of a dystopian future inspired by the lyrics to the song.
Hutchinson comments: “Road To Hell is the first song I’ve written where I’ve embodied a character within the narrative. I envisaged a version of myself, perhaps 30 years from now, reflecting on what once was and all the choices, both bad and good, that I’ve made throughout life. It’s about still finding that spark no matter what life has dealt you.”
“Battles” landed the Leicester born musician in the UK Official Charts. The 10-track album was produced and co-written with producer Josiah J Manning and spawned two Planet Rock playlisted tracks in ‘Constellations’ and ‘Bullets’. Hutchinson was included in Planet Rock’s 50 albums to look forward to in 2024, whilst Classic Rock awarded the album 9/10 hailing him as “an everyman performer who could be very special indeed,” placing him on their HOT LIST.
This week Hutchinson also embarks on his latest UK headline tour, which will also be the final leg of his ‘Battles’ album tour.
“I wanted to revisit a lot of my favourite venues, including the Louisiana in Bristol and Tuesday Night Music Club, plus the Black Heart in Camden. I’m also playing my first show in Belfast at Voodoo, plus my first ever headline show in Manchester, at the Night and Day Cafe which is where I played my first ever solo gig almost 20 years ago.”
As part of the run, Hutchinson will also be supporting blues rock giants King King on three dates in Gloucester, Lincoln and Norwich. “Alan Nimmo was a massive influence on me early in my career”, Hutchinson comments. “It’s an absolute honour to support the band on these dates and I can’t wait to play for their fans and introduce them to my music.”
