British Blues Awards nominated guitarist and singer songwriter Jack J Hutchinson has been play listed by BBC Radio 2.
He was given a spin on the legendary Paul Jones blues show on Monday 15 February at 7pm. The episode, titled On My Way Back Home, also featured the classic sounds of Jimmy Withserspoon and Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland.
In other news, Hutchinson’s new EP Unplugged has also entered the Independent Blues Broadcasters chart. The record, which has also entered the iTunes blues charts in the UK, US, Holland and Australia, was at #17 for the month of January 2016.
Hutchinson said: “To be selected for airplay by Paul Jones means a great deal. I’ve listened to the show for years and hardly ever miss an episode. It’s played a massive part in my musical education.”
Commenting on his IBBA charting, he added: “I’m lucky to have been given so much support from such a fantastic bunch of DJs. I can’t thank them enough. The two EPs I’ve put out so far have exceeded my expectations and they’ve played a massive part in that.”
