London based guitarist and singer songwriter Jack J Hutchinson has been nominated for a British Blues Award in the Acoustic Act category.
Hutchinson, who was also nominated in 2015 for the Emerging Artist award, faces stiff competition. The other nominees are: Ian Siegal, Marcus Bonfanti, Half Deaf Clatch, duo Joel Fisk and Jon Amor, Mark Harrison and Matt Woosey.
Hutchinson said: “It is an honour to be nominated for the Acoustic Act award. Although I’m also known for my love of Les Pauls and Marshall stacks, a love playing acoustic gigs. It’s a completely different dynamic and allows me to make a different kind of statement. Most of my songs are written on my old beaten up acoustic and so it is at the heart of what I aim to do – present original material that keeps blues relevant and evolving.”
Voting for the British Blues Awards 2016 will take place throughout June with a presentation event being held on 11 September 2016 at Newark Castle, Nottinghamshire, as part of the Newark Blues Festival.
