The debut release from Jack J Hutchinson’s Boom Boom Brotherhood has entered the iTunes Blues Singles Chart at number 14.
Written by Hutchinson the song features Rick Baxendale on bass and production, plus Jim Brazendale on drums. It is the first to be taken from their forthcoming album Set Your Heart For The Sun, due later this year.
The release coincided with a short tour of the UK, taking in dates across the midlands, north west and London. Highlights included three capacity bursting sets at the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne and an acoustic set at Bedford Esquires.

To finish the tour Hutchinson sat in with the Boom Band at Boomfest at the Half Moon Putney, fittingly performing his track Boom. The band feature Jon Amor (The Hoax/solo), Marcus Bonfanti (solo/Ten Years After), Mark Butcher (solo/former England cricket star) and Matt Taylor (Snowy White/The Motives), plus keyboard player Paddy Milner (Tom Jones/Jack Bruce/solo).

Hutchinson said: “It’s great recognition seeing the single enter the iTunes charts. We’ve had a great response on this short run of dates and are looking forward to a longer tour to coincide with the album release. The audiences in Colne were absolutely crazy. I think the north west had been drunk dry by the end of that festival! And to sit in with my pals in the Boom Band was a perfect way of rounding off the single promo dates.”
Reviews of the single have also been incredibly positive. Adam Kennedy at National Rock Review said: “An infectious number, with a driving rhythm and catchy fuzz-fueled guitar riffs which whet your appetite and leaves you wanting more.”
Moray Stuart at Plunger/Blues In Britain added: “An urgent, heavy canter through air-punching stadium rock power chords, fluid bass and insistent drums topped with Jack’s admirably gravelly rock belt vocals and trenchant-if-brief buzzsaw solo.”
Love Is Gonna Bring You Home is out now on limited edition vinyl style CD, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon.
Set Your Heart For The Sun will be out autumn 2016.
