London-based guitarist and songwriter Jack J Hutchinson is pleased to release his new video and single, ‘Justified’. The track is taken from his forthcoming solo album, ‘Who Feeds The Wolf?’, which is set for release on 18 October.
‘Justified’ was recorded with Hutchinson’s long time producer Tony Perretta, who also helmed last year’s solo debut ‘Paint No Fiction’, which gained glowing reviews from publications including Classic Rock Magazine and Guitarist. The track features Lazarus Michaelides on bass, Felipe Amorim on drums, and Alberto Manuzzi on keys.
Explaining the vibe of ‘Justified’, Hutchinson comments: “It is a lot heavier than anything I have recorded before. I’m really proud of my last album, but never felt I’d captured how I play guitar live on record. There is a certain anger and energy that I let loose on stage, and this track is what I’d been searching for.”
The Jack J Hutchinson Band recently road tested the song whilst on tour supporting Kris Barras Band. “We were playing larger venues than we have perhaps played before, which suited the new songs. There’s the usual influences – AC/DC, Black Crowes, Gun n Roses, Blackberry Smoke – but with our own spin on things. Needless to say, it is better suited to big rooms than tiny blues bars!”
‘Justified’ is reflective of the album as a whole. “We’ve been on the road as a band for over a year now, and I think that ethos has seeped into the album. A lot of the material came together in sound checks and in hotel rooms, with the result being a record that works almost as a live set, from start to finish.”
The Jack J Hutchinson Band will hit the road in September in support of the album, heading to Brazil for a three week run, before shows in Spain. The album will be launched in the UK at a special gig at Camden’s Black Heart on 22 October. The band will then perform at Planet Rockstock on 6/7 December. A full UK tour is scheduled for early 2020.
