Jack J Hutchinson is pleased to announce his track ‘Justified’ will feature on Earache’s New Wave Of Rock N Roll compilation album. Set for release 13 March 2020, the record will be released on three different coloured vinyl: purple, transparent and black.
It marks Hutchinson’s first release with a record label. Hutchinson comments: “Up until this point I have very proudly operated as an independent artist. But the opportunity to work with a label like Earache was a no brainer. The list of bands they have worked with says it all, including some of my favourite artists: Blackberry Smoke, Rival Sons, Temperance Movement and The White Buffalo. I am really excited by this opportunity.”
New Wave Of Rock N Roll will also include tracks by Hannah Wicklund & The Steppin Stones, Tomorrow Is Lost, Loz Campbell, Elles Bailey, Verity White, Matt Mitchell & The Coldhearts, The Dust Coda, Piston, Dead Man’s Whiskey, Revival Black, Gorilla Riot, Samarkind, SKAM and Maker.
In a statement, Earache explain: “In a media world where the word ‘classic’ has, at times, become synonymous with rock – as people look back nostalgically on the genre’s past glories – it is perhaps time to consider the term ‘modern’ rock, to look at what’s happening as we venture into a new decade at grassroots venues and grassroots media outlets around the UK.”
“From a very long shortlist of dozens of bright, rising acts, Earache has selected a selection of 15 bands for you to experience regardless of play count, stats or data, chosen on song quality alone.”
Hutchinson adds: “It’s a killer collection of tracks. I’ve played shows with a lot of the acts and they sure know how to rock! I’m looking forward to working with them on this project.”
To celebrate the release, Earache will also be presenting a special live show in London on 10 March at 02 Academy Islington featuring a line up of Jack J Hutchinson, Tomorrow Is Lost, Piston and Loz Campbell. Priority tickets for O2 customers on sale now. Tickets go on general sale 20 December at 10am.
