THE NEW ALBUM
‘THE HAMMER FALLS’
OUT NOW
Jack J Hutchinson has released his much anticipated and heavily guitar driven third solo album, ‘The Hammer Falls’. The album is available to buy now via Eyesore Merch and digitally courtesy of Earache Records on all platforms.
“The aim was to take the best elements of my first two solo albums, and take it up another level. I wanted to create an album with a lot of dynamics that dealt with raw emotional themes, but that ultimately left the listener with a positive energy.” states the, now gone rogue, London based former blues circuit musician. “I wrote these songs to personally deal with some of the shit that has been thrown at us over the last two years.”
The collection of songs was co-produced by Josh Norton-Cox and band members Lazaras Michaelides (bass), Felipe Amorim (drums) ”We’ve thrown everything but the kitchen sink at this record. We tracked most of the songs live in a room together, which was really important to the ethos of the sound.”
The avalanche of hard rock was recorded at Momentum Studios Devon with additional production and mixing by the acclaimed Josiah J Manning (Inglorious, Kris Barras Band, Moriaty, Wille and The Bandits). Mastering was by the Grammy award winning Stardelta (Noel Gallagher) with the haunting and searing artwork provided by Revelation Studio.
“It’s my most personal record to date, but it touches on wider themes such as mortality and loss which affect us all.” muses Jack reflecting upon a period of time which was challenging for all walks of life, “It’s hard hitting, rammed with heavy riffs and guitar solos, but with lyrics and melodies that will hopefully touch and move people.”
Always serving up an engaging live show, international tours have encompassed Brazil, Spain, Russia, France and Germany to great acclaim and festival appearances include BluesFest at the O2 Arena and Ramblin’ Man Fair, HRH and Bully on The Rocks amongst many. Jack is currently on UK tour to celebrate the album release which includes an appearance at Planet Rock Winter’s End.
“The new album is the heaviest music I have ever written, with big riffs and choruses and perfect for live shows with loads of people. It was a cathartic experience recording through such adversity, hopefully listeners will feel the same way.”
