For Katie Paterson’s Streetlight Storm the lights along East Kent’s Deal Pier flicker in time with lightning storms happening live in different parts of the world. Pairing the commonplace with the sublime, Paterson creates intricately poetic artwork that traverses geographical boundaries. She utilises communication processes to engage with technologists, engineers, meteorologists and lightning scientists in the formation of her powerful work.
