Album recording sessions

Hi there. I thought it was high time I gave everyone an update on how the album recording sessions are going.

Once again, we are recording at Universal Studios in London with the band’s bassist Rick Baxendale in the producer’s chair. We started out with a batch of songs I wrote over the winter, with the plan to record live in one or two takes, warts and all.

As soon as we started the songs kept coming. At this point we’ve stockpiled about 30 different tracks, ranging from traditional blues and rock, to some psychedelic experiments and acoustic soul. I really feel like we are on a roll and couldn’t be more happy with the results so far.

We are heading back in next week to work on two new numbers and then it will be on to the mixing stage. We are probably looking at an autumn release now but will be releasing a single over the summer to coincide with the batch of tour dates and festival appearances.

I can’t wait!

In the meantime, check out this nice video by Sally Newhouse from our gig at Bedford Esquires this week.

Cheers!

Jack xx
