Support on Kris Barras Band tour + New album studio update

Next month the Jack J Hutchinson Band will head out on the road in support the mighty Kris Barras Band on their UK tour. The run includes shows in Manchester, Newcastle, Leeds and Brighton, plus the Garage, London.

In addition, Hutchinson will play headline slots in Bedford, Crumlin and Ashford, as well as Broadstairs Blues Bash.

Commenting on the tour, Hutchinson said: “We are looking forward to hitting the road with Kris and his band. He’s someone I really respect and is such a badass guitarist and singer. It will certainly make us raise our game. I’ve also had a few crazy nights out with those guys in the past so anything could happen…although we might have to save that for the last night of tour!”

The Jack J Hutchinson Band features: Jack J Hutchinson (vocals and guitar), Felipe Amorim (drums) and Lazarus Michaelides (bass).

NEW ALBUM STUDIO UPDATE

This month Jack J Hutchinson is back in the studio working on the follow up to his critically acclaimed album ‘Paint No Fiction’. The record, which will be released this summer, features a range of musicians including Felipe Amorim, Lazarus Michalides, Stuart Moir and Alberto Manuzzi.

Explaining the current state of affairs, Hutchinson said: “Most of the material has come together whilst on the road over the last 10 months or so. Whereas my previous record was written mainly at home with an acoustic guitar, a lot of the new songs came together in sound checks and in hotel rooms jamming on my electric. So, unsurprisingly, it feels like a much heavier album with a lot of movement.”

The band tracked 16 songs at the tail end of last year and were back in the studio on New Year’s Day to start recording proper. “We’ve probably finished around 10 songs now and are working on vocals this week. It sounds a bit like Black Sabbath having a brew with Blackberry Smoke. If that makes any sense.”

Hutchinson explains that the band will be playing some of the new material for the first time on the Kris Barras tour. We’ve got three new tracks – ‘Justfied’, ‘Peace of Mind’ and ‘Lucky Man’ – that will be in the setlist. They are heavy as fuck!”

The title of the record, along with artwork designed by long time collaborator Aaron Gardner, will be released next month to coincide with the tour. “All I’ll say is, it’s a bit of a beast…””
